Features
What the board shows, and what has to happen first.
Crews get today's roster and the messages meant for the station. Captain messages go through approval before they are shown.
Roster and assignments
The display shows today's roster and unit assignments, pulled from the agency's scheduling system. Aladtec is one example.
Announcements and training
Announcements and training items can be posted to the boards. The agency chooses whether those posts require approval.
Captain and officer messages
The board carries captain and officer messages. A captain message goes through two-step approval before it is shown.
Urgent notices
Urgent notices can bypass approval. They are still logged, and they expire on their own. By agency setting, priority 1 notices expire after 24 hours and priority 2 notices expire after 72 hours. Only admins and approvers can post top-priority notices.
Emergency off switch
An agency-wide emergency off switch covers messages. Use it when messages should stop going to the boards across the agency.
Cached displays
The displays work from a cache. If the network drops, a screen keeps showing the last roster for 24 hours, which is the default, and then goes blank. An expired roster is taken down instead of left on the wall.
Kits
ACJ ships a pre-configured player and screen, in a standard-power version or a Power-over-Ethernet version. The kit activates when an agency admin confirms receipt. There is no on-site IT setup.
